I am an artist and teacher living and working near Albany New York. I’m deeply interested in the broad tradition of representational image making; its relationship to abstraction and our collective imagination. My daily studio practice is energized by exploration, intuitive action and discovery. The resulting studio environment is densely populated with overlapping image fragments and incongruent material surfaces. Multiple pieces in various mediums are always in simultaneous development. Being receptive to the cross-pollination between these disparate sources is integral to my process. In this way elements, which I do not anticipate, begin to inform and inhabit the work.
